Our mission, set by High Commander Bagnall, which we chose to accept….
Prime directive, to identify and complete reconnaissance of potential fishing targets. Specifically, to investigate location west of Zeal, name unknown. Also to investigate potential location north of Zeal, known to be the headquarters of the hardened Zeal Monachorum Fishing Syndicate.
Objectives: fish varieties; size of lake; number of swims; depth of water; man-made or natural; ease of access; day ticket or club water; size of catch….. nearest pub.

- Two intrepid spys set off incognito!

- Location 1 confirmed as Gissage Lake. Seem to opt for guard bulls instead of guard dogs… must be a good lake!

- Fish varieties, unfortunately no one around to check potential weight of specimens.

- Very quiet, no one there on the Sunday.

- Location 2 – Towards Bow at bottom of the hill.

- No signs of any obvious swims or signs to say it can be fished, looks more like a nature reserve.

A mile from Credition, these 18th century estate lakes have some of the hardest fighting fish in Devon. On site car park and toilets, day tickets available. Drinks, snacks and bait available. Contains common carp to 30lb, mirror carp to 29lb, koi to 18lb, tench to 8lb.

Coarse Fishing including common koi, mirror and crucian carp, rudd, roach, tench and perch.
